A Year of Hard Work Pays Off

The end of the year is a highlight at Crews. After several months of work, our students in the third year of the Bachelor’s program and Master and Master presented their end-of-year projects to juries of professionals.

These presentations, which served as real-world simulations, allowed them to demonstrate the skills they had acquired throughout their training. Here’s a look back at the three projects that marked the end of their academic journey.

The Bachelor's 3 students present their 360° project

For our students in the Digital & Tourism Bachelor’s program, the final stage of their three-year degree program takes the form of a 360° marketing project.

For several months, each of them worked on a real-world business challenge involving the redesign of a digital strategy. The goal was to develop a comprehensive project that included the creation of a new website, a marketing strategy, and a cohesive communication plan. Beyond creating the website, the students had to demonstrate their ability to:

  • Analyzing Consumer Behavior
  • Define Relevant Personas
  • Developing an Appropriate Marketing Mix
  • Develop a media plan
  • Create an editorial calendar
  • Define performance metrics
  • Present a realistic and well-reasoned comprehensive strategy

Each project involved companies from a variety of fields, requiring students to adapt their thinking to the specific challenges faced by their clients.

During their final presentations, they outlined their approach, explained their strategic decisions, and demonstrated their website to the jury. It was an excellent way to wrap up this year of training by putting their technical and marketing skills—as well as their professional demeanor—to the test.

Masters students challenge companies with their intrapreneurial projects

In the Digital & TourismMasters program, the end of the year was marked by the presentations of the intrapreneurship projects.

Unlike a traditional startup, the students were tasked with coming up with a new project or business line to be developed within an existing company.

For several months, they conducted in-depth research on their topic in order to develop a credible, innovative, and economically viable proposal. Their work focused in particular on:

  • Identifying Development Opportunities
  • Defining a Value Proposition
  • Market Analysis
  • Building a Business Model
  • Creating a working prototype
  • Developing a Sales Action Plan

The presentations gave students the opportunity to defend their recommendations like real consultants. They demonstrated their ability to persuade, present a case, and present a project that addresses the strategic challenges of their target company.

This exercise serves as excellent preparation for their second year of Master, when issues related to business development and strategy will become even more important.

Masters students wrap up their program with their entrepreneurial project

For our Master in Digital & Tourism, these thesis defenses were a particularly symbolic moment.

After nearly a year of work, the students presented their entrepreneurial project, which served as the central focus of their final year of studies.

The goal was not simply to propose a business idea, but rather to develop a comprehensive, realistic, and well-structured project that could be presented to a panel of professionals. Throughout the eleven-month project, the students had to:

  • Identify a market need
  • Develop an innovative offering
  • Developing Their Business Model
  • Develop their business strategy
  • Build a prototype or an MVP
  • Meet Professionals
  • Regularly challenge their assumptions
  • Develop their project through various forms of educational support

During the final presentation, they presented their entrepreneurial vision with true leadership presence, demonstrating their ability to persuade, address objections, and defend the viability of their project.

Beyond technical skills, this exercise allowed them to develop essential qualities: thoroughness, independence, perseverance, critical thinking, and the ability to champion a vision.

Skill development throughout the year

While these thesis defenses mark the end of the academic year, they are above all the culmination of work that began several months earlier.

Each project was punctuated by numerous follow-up sessions with the teaching staff and industry professionals. These meetings allowed students to present their progress, receive feedback, challenge their ideas, and gradually improve their work.

This project-based learning approach is at the heart of Crews' philosophy. It allows students to learn by doing, to work on real-world problems, and to develop skills that they can immediately apply in their future careers.

Skills that go far beyond the technical

These end-of-year projects do more than just assess academic knowledge. They also develop skills that have become essential in the professional world:

  • Project management spanning several months
  • Organization and Meeting Deadlines
  • Public Speaking
  • Analytical skills
  • Strategic Work
  • Creativity
  • The Role of a Consultant or Entrepreneur
  • The ability to persuade a professional jury

All of these qualities will make a difference as they enter the workforce or pursue their goals.

Congratulations to all graduating classes

These thesis defenses bring to a close a year full of learning, challenges, and achievements.

The faculty would like to congratulate all the students for their dedication, professionalism, and the quality of the projects they presented.

We wish them all the best in their future endeavors, whether they continue their studies here or elsewhere, pursue a work-study program, embark on a professional career, or pursue their future entrepreneurial ventures.

Another year is coming to an end… but many projects are just getting started!
